D. "Amaadi" Coleman aka The Belly Therapist & Founder Fit Tribe Wellness, LLC
Bianca Wise, a native of Baltimore, MD is Owner & President of Home Helpers Home Care of Baltimore, a Private Duty Home Care agency providing services to the elderly and people with continuing care needs. She has always had a passion for serving and helping others as it reflects in her previous career with the Baltimore County Fire Department. Bianca started her career as a Paramedic/Firefighter in 2003, promoting to the rank of Lieutenant in 2012 making her the first Black woman in the department’s 180-year history to be promoted to the rank.
She is also founder of Minding My D**n Business, an unconventional & lively personal development brand that cultivates using the power of your mindset to win.
Bianca is an enthusiastic, passionate leader who loves to have fun and enjoy life, all while setting forth to motivate and empower others to do the same.
She is an alumni of the Carl Holmes Executive Development Institute for Fire Service Management, a recipient of the 2012 NAACP Trailblazer Award (Baltimore County). She holds a Certificate in Women's Entrepreneurship from Cornell University. She received the 2020 Home Helper's Home Care franchisee Brand Champion Award and the 2022 Franchisee President’s Club Award. She is also an aspiring author completing her first book inspiring others to win through a positive mindset, to be released later in 2022.
D. “Amaadi” Coleman aka The Belly Therapist® and Founder of Fit Tribe Wellness is a fitness and wellness entrepreneur centered on educating, motivating, and empowering women to lead healthy lifestyles. For the past decade, she has served as a personal trainer, group fitness instructor, and more recently the creator of Belly Therapy (a program that focuses on the natural healing of diastasis recti and its symptoms among other postpartum mothers). She also is a wife and a mother to three teenage sons.
Amaadi has partnered with several nonprofits such as MomCares, The Bloom Collective, Detroit Mama Hub, and Okionu Birth Foundation to increase her reach in supporting moms in need of postpartum services. Also, she has been the recipient of numerous small business fellowships and grants including Empowered Women International (an LEDC program), BELL Revival Business Entrepreneur Program, Blkbtrfly, the Associated Black Charities Board Pipeline program, and was the recipient of the 2020 Movemeant Grant. She currently is the Communications Chair for the Women’s Leadership Committee at the Baltimore City Chamber of Commerce.
Before diving into fitness and wellness, Amaadi honed her skills in research analysis and data management in the criminal justice and maternal and child health fields. She has a vast amount of experience with collecting, managing, and reporting quantitative and qualitative data for government agencies and nonprofit organizations. She has been responsible for acting as liaison to grantees, government officials, and prison staff.
Amaadi holds a M.A. in Public Policy from George Washington University and a B.A. in Criminology and Criminal Justice from University of Maryland at College Park. She is fluent in Spanish and has extensively traveled the world and has been exposed to a wide variety of peoples and cultures. Amaadi is extremely passionate about helping other solve problems related to health and healing in almost every aspect.
The Women’s Leadership Committee (WLC) of the BCCC brings volunteers together to acknowledge female business leaders and entrepreneurs in our community. We celebrate by honoring individual and collective successes through collaboration and inspiration.
The WLC supports and empowers our members through programs and events that blend opportunities to cultivate, grow, and build legacies within family, community, and commerce.
