Register

This is a three session (you should plan to attend ALL three sessions) Boot Camp. It is designed to teach non-profit leaders in the start up phase how to create an organization that is founded on strong business principles, has meaningful impact, can increase in scale, and get funding. The following topics will be covered:
  • Balancing mission and money (including understanding how to clarify an organizational mission; developing organizational goals; to learn the elements of basic budgeting; understanding how to establish and rank organizational priorities; and understanding the fluid nature of balancing between budgetary constraints and impact);
  • Program design and process mapping (including creating a needs statement; understanding the benefits of process mapping; to articulate the difference between goals, objectives, and activities; to demonstrate the ability to utilize the client-centric and organization-centric model; articulating how activities lead to S.M.A.R.T. goals);
  • Telling a story that makes sense (including understanding the need for effective data management; To understanding the information needs and information that influences stakeholders; developing a budget or resource list, etc.); and
  • Preparing for grants (including determining positioning for grant funding, communication with funders, etc.).
